The NaNoWriMo madness, that is. Today kicks off 2010 National Novel Writing Month. Fifty-thousand words in thirty days. Ahh... fun.
This is my third year participating, and hopefully I'll finish in time this year. It might be dicey, since I'm sure I'll have edits on at least one book, quite possibly two, to finish. But I'm going to try. I love the story I'm working on, and got three thousand words written today, so finishing is a definite possibility.
The story I'm writing for NaNo is an historical set in the Old West, which is an era I've never written in (though I have mentioned I wanted to write a western) and it's got a bounty hunter hero, a runaway bride heroine, a hitman, and one pissed-off father, so it should be fun to write. My last few books have dealt with heavier, darker themes, so I'm really enjoying writing something that's a bit more on the lighter side.
It'll be madness, but it'll be fun madness. And really, if you have to have insanity, you might as well enjoy it, right?
Right?

I hope you're having more fun with your than I am with mine. :P
No. I hate my NaNo project and I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual. And the funny thing is, that seems to be the general consensus among everyone I talk to who's doing NaNo. :)
