Six-Sentence Sunday

This is from my upcoming Wild Rose Press historical romance, Devil in Disguise. It's Gerard and Andie's first kiss, which kind of sets the tone for the rest of their relationship...

With that, he rose, stepping before her to catch both her hands in his and draw her up. She didn’t realize her mistake until it was too late, as his arms closed about her to gather her close. A silver cloud of frost puffed from his lips as he murmured, “Andie,” and his lips caught hers in a gentle kiss.

He didn’t allow her the chance to protest, crushing her closer, his arms unyielding. Not that it mattered, for she wasn’t about to do anything of the sort. Instead, she welcomed him and leaned into him to accept what he offered.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! This was my first Six-Sentence Sunday. One way to help me get back into regular blogging (or so I hope.)
