Wow - is it the new year already? Hard to believe, it went by so fast.
But 2008 is here, and it's that time for resolutions and looking ahead and all that. So, here are a few of my resolutions for 2008:
1. Get an agent - Yep. I'm still trying to do this. I think it's a carryover from last year. And the year before. And so on, and so on. I'll admit, I haven't been trying very hard. I sent out less than 10 queries last year, so it's been kind of a halfhearted quest. Of course, I also sold two books on my own in the last year, so it all kind of balances out, right?
2. Get back to writing on a regular schedule - The last half of 2007 was crazy, to say the least. Between my husband's hospitalization and the move, late August to mid-October is really kind of a blur. As a result, I became a wee bit lazy when it came to my writing schedule. Of course, the three WIP on my desk certainly didn't help. I need to clear off my desk before I can really sink my teeth into any new projects.
3. Keep things current - My website is terribly outdated. I even debated whether or not to keep it. But since I've decided I will keep it (for now at least. It isn't a final decision,) I suppose I ought to keep current. So, I'll try to keep that updated.
4. Post regularly - Sometimes I can't think of anything worth blogging about. Other times, I'm afraid I'm just repeating myself. The archives are getting a bit lengthy, so I don't necessarily have the time to go back and scour to make sure I'm not repeating myself. I'll admit, I've thought about suspending this blog from time to time. Especially when I'm on deadline. But then, something comes along that I just have to blog about and I reconsider.
I'm sure there are other things I'll have to resolve to do, but I can't think of them at the moment. But for now, this will have to do. I don't normally make resolutions (because I'm pretty sure I'm not going to keep them for more than a week or two) but it's a new year, so why not give it another shot?
Happy New Year!
