Happy Earth Day!

What are you doing here??? Go plant a tree. Go hug a tree. Go outside and just enjoy the beauty of nature.

Shoo. Now.

Okay - I'm just kidding. Well, half-kidding.

It's Earth Day - and even I am doing my part. I recycle (and after 15 years, I still go head to head with my husband over olive oil bottles and peanut butter jars. Can't seem to get through to him that they can't be recycled). I do what I can.

It's Alaska Week on the Discovery Channel - and on Sunday night, I watched Expedition: Alaska and it was a little sad and a little scary, how global warming is affecting our planet now, and what the future holds. There is discussion about listing the polar bear as an endangered species - making it the first to be listed due to "climate change" (I assume this is global warming, but when did the term change???) How sad would that be, to see polar bears and walruses (walrusi??) and seals become extinct? I would hate to see that and hopefully, we (the human race) will be willing to work towards preventing that from happening. Otherwise....

Large mammals are the indicator species of an environment; if they aren't doing well, nothing is.

We've got our garbage down to one bag every three weeks and we're hoping our new composter will get us down to one a month.

Now, I have to figure out how to bring leftovers for lunch in something that isn't plastic...any suggestions??
