Being Sick...

Sucks.

I am sick.

It sucks.

Which is why I'm up at 3:44 AM, posting. Because I can't sleep. My throat is sore, my nose is clogged, my husband's snoring like a freakin' buzz saw - who could sleep?

I took some more Tylenol Night Cold medicine. Hopefully it'll make me sleepy enough to go back to bed. I certainly hope so. I hate being awake in the middle of the night when I know I can't go back to bed and just sleep until I don't need to sleep anymore. The Girl would let me get away with it, and she's old enough that Mommy could lay in bed most of the day (even though I have a million things left to do to get her ready for school - egads, tomorrow!!) But the Boy? Nope. He's not quite so agreeable. Especially since he's been sick since the weekend. I should've known I was doomed, eh?

Anyway, here's a little more about my mini-vacation. Saturday saw me finally getting back to sleep around 6:30AM, and my husband got up with the kids, so I could sleep in, which was wonderful. Of course, when I did wake up, he went off to play golf with my father in law and my nephew. No wonder he let me sleep. He knew he was getting a day to do whatever he wanted (which was play golf, a game I will never understand why anyone likes.)

It wasn't a bad day, just a long one. But then, around 5ish, my in laws, nephew, and the Girl went to church. My husband ran some errands, and the Boy and I fed some ducks. Well, actually, I fed the ducks, he mostly ate the bread I gave him to toss to the ducks. He chattered on about the ducks, though. It was amazing to see how fascinated he was by them, he just kept going on about them. It was cute. Probably the best half hour of the entire weekend, now that I think about it. Since he's begun talking, my little man is a chatterbox and a half. We just sat on the back deck after we ran out of bread, and watched the ducks swim off, and talked about absolutely nothing. It was perfect.

Hope that now the days have passed that you are feeling better! and that no one else got it in the home too. It usually passes on from one to another here!
