Roadblocked!

Well, I should have known I would jinx myself.

Angel of Darkness is at roughly 65k words. It's about 75% done. That's cause for celebration, right? Only about 20k words left - the big battle, conflict resolution, happily ever after. Piece of cake, right?

Ugh.

I hit a wall.

Dude, admit it. You're stuck.

**sigh**

The problem is, I've gotten most of the conflict resolved. Which leaves the Big Battle and Happily Ever After.

But it's too soon.

So I. Am. Stuck.

On the negative side, it sucks because it's thisclose to being finished (yay!), I had momentum on my side and I lost it. The holiday weekend didn't help because I was at the shore on Sunday and didn't get any writing done and on Monday, I just didn't feel like writing, so I gave myself the day off. Considering I'd been writing 6 hours a day, for two and a half weeks, I figured I earned one day of absolutely no writing. Wonder now if that was a mistake, or if I'd have hit the roadblock anyway.

However, there is plus side as well. I've been using the downtime to revise Devil in Disguise, so that's a good thing. That's why you should never have just one project on hand. I may not be writing, per se, but I am re-writing and that counts as well.

Oh, and it turns out I dislocated a finger on Wednesday, so that didn't really help with working on Angel, either. It hurt too much to type. But all is well, as I (not realizing at the time the finger was dislocated) popped it back into place yesterday (say it with me, ewwww!) and now it's almost as good as new. Another story to add to the file Weird Ways I've Hurt Myself.

So, maybe I'll get around the roadblock this weekend. Maybe not. But it will happen - or so I hope. Gives me a chance to revise Devil, and to get some more vampire research done on Angel, so at least time won't be a-wasted, right?

And that's always a good thing.

Unfortunately, that happens more often than we'd like to admit. Just take some time to relax this weekend, recharge the batteries, and come back at it fresh.

I'm taking a break from it for the next few weeks. I've got a few other projects needing my attention! :D
