Happy Dance!

Because Dance With the Devil is done!

Well, the first draft is, anyway.

Whew.

Okay, so I hate the ending already and know that needs to be rewritten. And there are a few scenes in the middle that need tightening. And subplot that needs to be fleshed out a little better.

But that's why it's called a rough draft. And this is rough. But it won't be in due time.

Ahh... happiness is typing THE END at the end of a manuscript, even if I'm kind of sorry to leave the characters and their world, and I am kind of sorry to be doing just that. At the same time, there's relief. This story was tough to write - I took a few months off from it because it was draining me so much. And that helped to recharge my batteries for this particular story as well. When I got back to it, the story flowed so well, it pretty much told itself.

And now, time to begin second round revisions to Tiger Eyes. I want a clean, revised copy to take with me on vacation - so I'd best get to work on it. There is a LOT of red ink on that first draft.

A.

Lot.

But for now? FREEDOM!!!!!!

Congratulations! It's always a great feeling to be finished with a major milestone.

I just finished the final draft on a novella...now it's time to get back into another project that was left languishing.

Well done. :) And there's always a lot of revision to be done after the first draft is over - but completing that is a milestone.

I really like the title Tiger Eyes. Maybe because it reminds me of the semi-precious stones... wait, are those semi-precious? Probably not. Still, they look attractive.

Thanks! I love tiger's eye. There used to be a Nature Company store near me - and they had all kinds of rocks. Tiger's Eye was always my favorite. =)
